Glos Northern Senior Div Two

Bibury 3

Moreton Rangers 8

BIBURY'S unbeaten sequence of 10 games stretching back to October, which has seen them relentlessly climb the table, came to a shuddering halt on Saturday.

Moreton Rangers ruthlessly hit eight goals past Bibury keeper Steve Luce and the three points moved them up to second spot in the division on goal difference.

On another very windy afternoon, Luce was called into early action to make a save and the signs were not good for the home side when another attack from Moreton resulted in a chance being put over the bar.

Bibury did, however, take the lead on 15 minutes when Ashley Rockley got to the byline and cut the ball back for James Piatek to tap in.

The lead lasted only a few minutes as Josh Russell's attempted clearance sliced up in the air and with the assistance of the wind looped over Luce to level the scores.

Midway through the half, Moreton hit Bibury with two goals in as many minutes, the first a tap-in at the far post and the second a good finish from just inside the penalty area.

Bibury had a great chance to pull a goal back before the interval but Dom O'Neill blasted over the bar and then Harry Deacon saw a shot deflected wide.

Moreton made it 4-1 just before the half-time whistle as Bibury again failed to clear their lines.

Moreton were 5-1 ahead soon after the restart when a bad pass was intercepted.

O'Neill pulled a goal back for Bibury following good work from Kanne Outram, but the sixth Moreton goal soon followed from a well-taken free kick.

Bibury then wasted another couple of chances of their own before Moreton made it seven when a long-range effort flew in.

With 10 minutes to go, O'Neill did grab a second goal for Bibury, finishing off a cross from Rockley.

However, Moreton were not done and added goal number eight right on full-time.
