The popular annual race (in its 21st year) comprises a flat five-mile, two-lap course, which is always well organised and marshalled by Almost Athletes.

It is also the first race in the County Road Race series, so an early opportunity to grab some points.

First in for Bourton was Mike Smith in 28.44 (seventh overall and first MV45) and next was Darren Long in 30.59. Shona Crombie-Hicks was first lady in 31.06.

Then came: Ewen Smith 31.22; Tony Goodwill 33.20; Claire Harrison (first LV35 in 35.37; John Gibson 35.49; Alison Lane (first LV55) 36.56; Brian Hulcup 37.42; Liz Hulcup 38.08; Graham Lane 38.51; Dave Turnbull 40.14; and Lynn Hudson 43.40.
