PAT BAKER is the new captain of the PGA in Gloucestershire and Somerset after taking over from Filton’s Daryl Kelley.
Baker was a latecomer to professional golf but in a short time has really helped to develop the game in Somerset through both the PGA set-up and the Somerset Golf Partnership.
The Weston-based father of two has been associated with the Mendip Spring Golf Club ever since turning pro in 2006 but he is soon to leave to create an exciting new project in Bristol.
He will team up with his fellow PGA pro and good friend Paul Barrington as well as former Bath assistant Ross Jones as they open the InPlayGolf venture on the harbourside in Bristol.
