THREE young boxers from the Horseshoe ABC near Swindon helped Glos & Wilts win 8-1 over Berks & Bucks at Berinsfield, Oxfordshire on Saturday.

Chantel Simpkins, from Lechlade, gained her win over Emily Price.

Simpkins was the the shorter boxer but she used her tremendous footwork and good boxing skills to get under her opponent and win the opening exchanges.

Simpkins controlled the pace in the second round, picking her punches well, before having to withstand an all-out assault from Price in the final round.

Jorden Williams lost the first round of his match with Jordan Blake but came out throwing heavy punches in the second and must have come close to making his rival take a standing count.

In the third-round decider both boxers gave their all, with Williams coming out a deserved winner.

George White made his debut against Elliot Darbin and he boxed well behind his left jab. Controlling the bout throughout , White gained a comfortable victory.
