Avonvale United U8s 7

Malmesbury U8 Warriors 6

BOTH teams put on an entertaining game in the sunshine at Lowfield Road.

Warriors took the early advantage with three well taken goals in the first period. But Sacha Cooper kept the home side in touch and with the introduction of Philip Monaghan Vale pulled level.

Once more, however, Warriors regained the lead before the break.

The second half saw a great end-to-end game with Monaghan putting away another brace but with minutes to go Vale pulled level again more from the penalty spot through Cooper.

A good display was rounded by Daniel Rawle's superb strike from distance. MoM: Monaghan.

Avebury U11s 0

Avonvale Utd U11s 6

AVONVALE continued from where they left off before Christmas with an impressive 6-0 victory against Avebury.

Benjamin Cook got his team off to the perfect start, finishing into the roof of the net following good work down the left by Lewis Rodgers and Theo Harper.

Ben Lemos then scored a ten-minute hat-trick of predatory finishes to make it 4-0 at half-time. After the break, Elliot Kayani crossed brilliantly into Danny Hedge who finished into the corner with a fine first-time shot.

Moments later, Danny doubled his tally by beating his defender and rounding the keeper before tapping into an empty net.

Avebury came into the game towards the end but Harvey Ashenford, Flynn Walton and Harper were solid in defence while keeper Jack Ticehurst was quick off his line when needed. MoM: Harvey Ashenford.

Cashes Green U14s 5

Avonvale United U14s 2

VALE travelled to an unbeaten Cashes Green and quickly put the home side under pressure. Vale worked hard and gained the lead when Adam Gale headed home from a well-taken James Skeldon corner.

Vale soaked up the pressure well in the first period only for a horrible bounce to allow the home side to go into the break on equal terms. The second half saw Cashes Green take the advantage and despite a further strike from Gale the game was put beyond Vale's reach with the last kick of the game.

A solid and hardworking performance. MoM: Adam Foster (GK).

Wickwar U15s 0

Avonvale Utd U15s 8

LOOKING rusty after the Christmas break Vale struggled to dominate in the first half with Wickwar threatening from a succession of corners.

As the half progressed so did the visitors, who scored twice before the break with goals from Luke Freeman and Sam Hoare.

The second half saw Vale assert their dominance, scoring a further six goals with Ed Ramsey and Jacob Dove both grabbing a brace.

Dan Carpenter and captain Josh Eddolls also found the net.

MoM: Cristian Goodwin.
