A DEPLETED Corsham side was supplemented by several Royal Wootton Bassett reserves but the hosts still enjoyed a resounding 62-0 win.
Harry Read, Sam Fry and Matty Loader scored two tries each with further scores added by Tom Sharpe, Eddie Geerah, Dylan Hughes and Tom Fieldsend, who also landed six conversions. Bassett remain top of the Dorset & Wilts Division Two (North) League and face second-placed Minety next week in a clash which will count as both a league and U18s cup game.
Newbury U15s 24
Royal Wootton Bassett U15s 12
Bassett played their part in an excellent game though going down 24-12 at Newbury.
The home side dominated the early exchanges and despite some heroic defending Bassett conceded four tries in the first half (two converted). However, just before half-time centre Doman Thapa was to raise spirits by scoring out wide to make it 24-5
With several changes at the break Bassett controlled territory and their reward came when hooker Thomas Absalom went over following a quick tap penalty which Ryan Mountford converted.
