Tetbury Town 0

After a cagey first half-hour, with typical derby tackles flying in, Vale took the lead. A fine move down the right found Tom Blackah in space and he rolled the ball to Jamie Packer, who rammed the ball home with his left foot.

It was 2-0 soon after when Packer was again in the right place at the right time to finish.

The second half saw Vale create a lot of chances but they could not find a way past Anthony Wait in the Tetbury goal.

Blackah hit the post twice late on.

Berkeley Town Reserves 4

Avonvale Utd Reserves 3

AVONVALE Reserves were left to rue a number of missed chances as manager Daniel Boulton saw his team fall to their sixth defeat in a row.

In a key match at the bottom of the table, Berkeley Town Reserves drew level on points with their fellow strugglers despite a spirited second-half comeback by the Vale.

In a scrappy first half, not helped by the boggy pitch, it was Berkeley who made the most of an open game, scoring twice in quick succession. It was a similar story at the start of the second half. Avonvale, having to push forward, were caught twice more on the break and found themselves 4-0 down.

It seemed like it was going to be one of those days but, after seeing a team-mate miss from the spot, Halliday coolly stroked in Avonvale’s second penalty of the game.

Jackson then reduced the deficit before a brilliant lob by Wood set up a frantic finale, although the score finished 4-3.

Hawkesbury Stallions 3

IN AN end-to-end game, Hawkesbury came out on top, 3-2 winners.

Hawkesbury broke the deadlock in bizarre fashion as the Avonvale keeper’s clearance struck the Hawkesbury striker and rolled back into the net.

Vale instantly levelled as Luke Daniels went on a wonderful solo run before cutting inside and finishing from the edge of the area.

Into the second half and Hawkesbury took the lead after an unlucky deflection, but Avonvale kept going and equalised again after another deflection left the keeper helpless.

Hawkesbury grabbed the winner in the closing minutes with a tap-in after a goalmouth scramble.
