POULTON have progressed to the semi final of their county cup, but only after a thrilling 7-6 win in a penalty shoot-out.
Glos FA Minor Cup 4th Round
Kingshill Sports 2
Poulton 2
(Poulton won on penalties 7-6)
After a somewhat drab and goalless first half, the game came to life after the break and fully lived up to expectations.
Poulton started the second half on top and went ahead in the 55th minute through Rob Paget. They kept the pressure up and it was no surprise when Steve Andrews made it 2-0 on 70 minutes.
Kingshill, top of the Cirencester League Division Two, looked out of it, but two late goals from Dan Fraganoli shocked Division One Poulton.
The reward for edging the shoot-out 7-6 is a home semi final against Tewkesbury Town Reserves on March 1.
