FORWARD Aaron Nell has returned to the Swindon Ice Arena having agreed a two-way contract with the Sheffield Steelers - and immediately won the man of the match award in the Wildcats' 7-5 win over Basingstoke on Saturday night.

The 24-year-old former Wildcats captain left Wiltshire for the Elite (higher) League side in the summer, following a hugely successful 2012-13 season which saw him net 60 goals and make 55 assists from 54 games in a season that also saw him break in to the senior GB squad.

Head coach Ryan Aldridge said: "It's great to have Aaron back in the line-up.

"He is a big goal scorer and that is just what we need.

"Along with Richie (Lee Richardson), his arrival makes our forward line-up very deep now and I'm sure he will help us get back in the right direction."

Nell, who has made 33 appearances for the Steelers this season, said: "I'm very excited at the prospect of playing in Swindon once again and I hope I can help the team in any way I can."

He will continue to feature for the South Yorkshire club when the Wildcats are without a fixture.
