THE Stratton Under 17/18’s travelled to Highworth and continued their recent good run by coming away with an emphatic 5-1 victory.

STRATTON YOUTH FC ROUND-UP

Highworth U18s 1

Stratton Youth U18s 5

On a difficult pitch that made it hard to play their passing game, Stratton battled well and took a deserved lead through the lively Scott Reynolds.

Highworth then came back strongly and were unlucky not to score before Stratton added a second via an own goal.

Stratton continued to press in the second half and Archie Day scored an excellent goal to make it 3-0. Reynolds then lashed in from 20 yards for his second and Gregor Pilkington forced the ball over the line for Stratton’s fifth.

Highworth scored a consolation goal towards the end of the game.

MoM: Alex Harding.

Sratton Youth U16s 4

Blunsdon U16s 0

THE Stratton lads were in superb battling form and they needed to be against a physical Blunsdon side.

James Pitt opened the scoring after ten minutes with a delightful 25-yard lob.

An exciting first half finished 1-0 at the break although both teams had chances to score.

The second half started with Blunsdon on top as Stratton lost momentum.

But Stratton doubled their lead on 51 minutes with a great finish by Nathan Indge, after some great team play.

Gustav Perderson then set up Harry Rogers and he finished well into the top corner. The game got very stretched as legs got tired but it was Stratton who took further control. A fantastic team passing move was finished off in classy style by Pitt in the final minute.

MoM: Sam Grafton.

Stratton U15s 0

Cirencester Town U15s 2

FOR the first time this season Stratton failed to score and it cost them the three points in a hotly-contested local derby.

Stratton started brightly, but couldn't pick out the final pass.

Ciren gradually grew in confidence and midway through the first half they scored from a penalty when Jack Hollins brought down Adam Holmes after poor defending from a free kick.

The second half was much the same as the first, with little to split the two sides.

It was another poor piece of defending that let Holmes break clear on the left and he slotted the ball past the keeper at the near post.

Stratton kept trying but couldn't find a way past Ciren's defence – a disappointing result after the efforts of the previous week.

Consistency is needed if Stratton are to stay in the mix at the top of the table.

Stratton U14s (Blue) 1

Malmesbury U15s 1

STRATTON did very well and three points would have been nothing more than they deserved. They did get their first point of the season thanks to a Louie Jackson strike late on in the first half.

Stratton U13s 0

Highworth U/13s 1

A SINGLE strike from Highworth's Jack Mason was enough to earn the points, despite the efforts of MoM Sam Lomas.

Stratton U11s 0

Cricklade U11s 3

STRATTON once again were unlucky in front of goal. They never gave up, had many shots on goal but the opposition keeper was in fine form.

MoM: Stephen Milton-McConnell.

STRATTON U8s were involved in a very high scoring development game at Blunsdon, where Ollie Potter and Leo Jones scored a goal apiece and Jayden Stratford banged in five goals.
