YOUTH RUGBY: Bassett have to settle for fourth place in U17s Cup

DESPITE exerting periods of pressure on the home side's try line, Tom Fieldsend's penalty and a try from Jamie Towers were Bassett's only scores as they suffered defeat in their Dorset & Wilts U17s Cup third-place play-off match at North Dorset.

The hosts' pressure on the Bassett defensive line saw them score a breakaway try and two others to run out eventual winners by 22-8.

RHYS HIGGINSON put in a man-of-the-match performance in Bassett's eight-try win over local rivals Minety in their latest Wiltshire Cup fixture. Tries were scored by seven different players including two from prop George Parks.
