MINCH started this pre-Halloween fixture like men possessed.
The early pressure eventually told when Eagles bewitched the Westbury defence with a perfectly weighted chip over the top, which the speeding Jamie Weaver pounced on to touch down under the posts.
Minch continued with their hair-raising start when Tony Dowie tricked the Westbury defence and treated the spectators to an impressive solo run from the halfway line to score the second try.
Minch’s concentration slipped and the defence turned into zombies as Westbury scored two tries of their own.
Minch hit back as Pearce and Beaumont scored tries in a frantic first period.
Westbury’s frustration bubbled over as one of their forwards was given his marching orders, something that would haunt the visitors for the rest of the game.
Minch were working well up front with some bone-rattling tackling from Burfoot and Weaver and Dowie in frighteningly sharp form. However, Minch were still squandering chances.
The second half brought more tries from Minch, Beaumont added two to his tally and Pearce, who impressed all afternoon, added a fine try, ghosting in from 40 yards out.
Varley was unlucky to fall inches short of the Westbury line but made up for it when he scored shortly after.
Minch struck again late in the game when Morgwn Atkins, with help from Rosser-Smith, overturned a Westbury line-out to bundle over and score.
