CIRENCESTER TOWN Academy have once again begun a successful run in the FA Youth Cup having won through three rounds to reach the Third Round Qualifying stage of the competition.
In the Preliminary Round, on September 10, they overwhelmed Almondsbury UWE 6-0 before winning away at Paulton Rovers 3-2 in the First Round Qualifying a couple of weeks later.
They then convincingly beat Merthyr Town 5-2 at home in the Second Round Qualifying last Thursday at Cirencester's Corinium Stadium.
They are now due to play away at Forest Green Rovers in the Third Round Qualifying stage, which is due to be played during the week commencing October 21.
The winners of the tie will then progress to the First Round proper where they have been drawn at home to Football League Two side Torquay United.
The Academy, a joint initiative with Cirencester College, reached the Second Round Proper of the FA Youth Cup last season, losing away to Swindon Town at the County Ground.
The best run they have had in the competition came in 2009 when they reached the Third Round proper, losing a very tight match 2-1 away against Sunderland at the Stadium of Light.
