BRITISH No.1 William Fox-Pitt dominated the Knight Frank-sponsored Dauntsey Park Horse Trials (2) over the weekend.
The Olympic bronze medallist completed of hat-trick of wins including the Open Intermediate aboard Cool Mountain, who beat a stellar field that included World No.1 Andrew Nicholson, Sir Mark Todd, Laura Collett and Lucy Wiegersma.
Fox-Pitt was also successful in the BE100 on Reinstated, pipping fellow GB international Wiegersma, and the Intermediate on Luxury FH.
Nick Gauntlett, from Chipping Sodbury, completed a double on Tomgear Showtime in the Novice and on Cairnside Sir Alex in the Intermediate.
Helen James, based in the village of Dauntsey, won the Intermediate Novice on Watson. Her husband Andy has been a long-term sponsor of the event.
More than 800 horse and rider combinations competed and Toby Sturgis (chairman), who began the Dauntsey Horse Trials in 1972, said it was a fantastic three days of competition, seeing local riders competing against the very best in the world.
The River Avon crossings on the cross country course provided unique fences and a test of horsemanship at all levels, while the brand new Intermediate track was well received by riders.
Top stars were seen helping steward the event, including Sir Mark Todd, Rodney Powell, Zara Phillips and Betina Hoy on collecting ring duties.
