Cheltenham Civil Service 44
Minchinhampton Rams 31
ARRIVING in Cheltenham with some new faces and just 13 players, it took some time for Minch Rams to gel.
CCS took advantage to score a try almost immediately, and then twice more later in the half, via the wings thanks to poor tackling.
However, Trim made a classic interception in Minch's 22 and sprinted the length of the pitch to score, and the Rams began to construct solid foundations. Jenns, at No.10 in particular, exploited holes in the CCS rearguard with speed and skill to score.
The second half was fought with great gusto, Fraser and French flattening the opposition with massive charges upfield.
New recruit Sam Knights had some great runs and off-loads, as did Rob Handy and Grant Bray-Warner, the latter scoring a brace of great solo tries.
Minch were playing fluid and Matt Godden had a sterling first game with some powerful runs, capped by a try, while Gale and Evans were solid in the forwards.
