PURTON move into second in the table on Saturday when completing a league double over bottom-side Letcombe, writes Alan Eastwood.
Ashley Gooch and Joe Dorey were both missing, but Blaine
Fitzgerald returned and Nick McCrae played his first game since pre-season 2012/3 when he was injured in a friendly.
Purton were 3-0 up at the halfway stage and it could have been a few more as they battered the home side.
Fitzgerald netted the first on six minutes, latching
on to a through ball and then provided the cross that allowed Campbell to volley into the net. McGahey added a third on 27 minutes, knocking in a rebound after having a shot
The second half saw Purton pile on the pressure although Letcombe did get the odd breakaway and went close a couple of times.
McCrae celebrated his return to the team by scoring Purton’s fourth on 50 minutes and on 76 minutes Fitzgerald headed on for Hall to sweep home Purton’s fifth.
The keeper was beaten again after 80 minutes when Gee netted with delicate lob.
With five minutes remaining, Fitzgerald blasted in Purton's seventh to bring his tally to nine goals already this season.
