CRUDWELL Bowls Club has enjoyed a very successful spell.
Team of Three
In the county's recently-completed north league, they finished runner-up to Westbury Blue Circle, beating Seend, Melksham and Bromham.
But they came out on top in a new competition in the summer, the Team of Three, which comprises clubs playing each other in singles, pairs and triples.
In the north section, Crudwell lost only one game and they were followed home by Blue Circle Royals and Marshfield.
There were near-misses for Crudwell in the County Pairs.
Pam and Les Baldry went out at the semi-final stage to Chris Smith and Di Sullivan (Villagers), and it was the same fate for last year's champions, Geoff Lane (Crudwell) and Pete Sullivan (Villagers), who lost out to Bromham pair Tom Bright and Denise Wiltshire.
Smith and Sullivan went on to win the final.
Inter County competition
In the 2013/2014 season, Wiltshire have been placed in a group of five with Hereford, Worcester, Gloucester and Oxford.
In their opening game, the Moonrakers beat Worcester 26-14.
George Preston (Little Somerford) made his ICC debut and every player won at least one of their two games.
The four of Pam Baldry (Crudwell), Julia Guest (Crudwell), Tom Bright (Bromham) and Les Baldry (Crudwell) won both their games and became the first Wiltshire players to score a hotshot in the inter-county competition.
