Weymouth confirmed as Cirencester's next FA Cup opponents
LEE SMITH fired Cirencester Town to their fourth consecutive league victory on Tuesday night as Brian Hughes’s men won 3-1 at Cinderford.
It took the irrepressible Smith to the top of the Southern League Div 1 South & West goalscoring charts with ten strikes, and he also bagged a brace in the FA Cup win over much-vaunted AFC Portchester on Saturday.
Cirencester retain sixth place in the table, just three points off leaders North Leigh, with games in hand on the majority of their rivals.
Town now play the best supported team in the Southern Premier League, Weymouth, who swept Bognor Regis aside 4-1 in their away replay on Tuesday.
Weymouth are sure to bring solid support to the Corinium on Saturday, October 12, in a Third Qualifying Round tie that would be worth £7,500 to the winners, and leave the victor just one game away from playing Football League opposition.
This weekend Cirencester take another break from league action with the visit to Didcot Town in the FA Trophy.
