Fairford Town 0.
FAIRFORD Town missed out on a place in the first round proper of the FA Vase after a 4-0 home defeat to Kidlington at Cinder Lane.
A first half double from Lewis Coyle did the damage and, with Fairford chasing to get a goal back, a third midway through the second half ended any hopes of a home comeback. The fourth goal came in injury time.
KIdlington took the lead with just 15 minutes on the clock when Coyle latched on to a through ball before beating home 'keeper Ben Mitchell.
Coyle doubled the lead when his 25-yard effort was deflected past Mitchell in the 40th minute.
After the break, Fairford's first effort saw good pressure result in Henry Traas's shot being blocked. Then Lewis Brownhill brought a superb save out of Fairford’s Mitchell on 51 minutes as his right-footed cross was turned around the post.
A triple change followed on the hour with Matt Boucher and Callum Marshall replaced by Adam Smith and Jack Allan. Alex Rudd also came on for Steve Hall as boss Paul Braithwaite opted for a three-pronged attack.
Chances came and went for Fairford with Nathan Gambling and Rudd going close before the Reds conceded a third with 73 minutes played when substitute Tom Woodbridge capitalised on a defensive lapse to fire the ball home.
Julius Muraga added a fourth in injury time as he latched on to a long through ball before scoring to seal Kidlington’s place in the next round.
