Table-topping Bibury run riot with 17 goals
9:35pm Monday 18th March 2013 in Sport
Cheltenham League Div 1.
Bibury 17 (seventeen) Apperley and Tewkesbury Dynamos 1.
THE floodgates opened in more ways than one on Saturday as Bibury ran riot in awful conditions against Apperley.
Bibury were creating chances at will and the first goal soon came along as Darren Parker was played in by John Austin.
Parker went on to rattle off a quickfire hat-trick.
Austin then scored one of his rare goals, getting on the end of a Russell cross, before Matty Brunton scored number five after unselfishly being played in by Parker.
After the break, Brunton returned the favour to set up Parker’s fourth goal before Ashley Rockley made it 7-0 and Chris Singh added an eighth.
Apperley then scored a consolation goal as Bibury failed to clear a corner. But straight from kick-off, Bibury were on the attack again and Singh scored from the penalty spot to make it nine, with sub Harry Deacon adding the tenth.
Further goals followed from James Keylock, Singh and Rockley before Rockley completed his hat-trick.
There was still time for Singh to bag his fourth of the game and the scoring was completed by Keylock (16) and Brunton (17).
MoM: Josh Russell.
