Former Olympian dominates muddy Malmesbury event

FORMER GB Olympian Dan Robinson, from Stroud, won the inaugural Flying Monk 10 at Charlton Park, Malmesbury on Sunday in a time of 1hr 04min 13sec.

More than 130 runners braved the snow and rain as the course took them through ten miles of wooded trails, open fields – and masses of mud.

Second was Paul Sidaway, from Eastleigh, in a time of 1:08.28 and third was Ian Newell from Marlborough RC in 1:10.22.

The ladies’ race was won by Niki Morgan from Chepstow Harriers (1:16.25) ahead of Sam Kelly from Royal Wootton Bassett Hounds (1:19.47) and Yvonne Cox (1:24.52).

The Fearless 5-Mile Fun Run was won by Paul Edwards in 37.44, with Diana Dee being the first lady in 44.33.

The Children’s Muddy Mile was won in a time of 7min 20sec by Thomas Rowland, with Kiya Dee taking the girls’ section in 8.53.
