I’M STILL on my holidays and although I won’t be getting a tan anytime soon, I’m really enjoying my rest and a change of scenery.

I’ve been doing a bit of hacking and hunting so my fitness levels won’t drop too much, and will mean it’s not too much of a shock when I get back into the yard and start training again!

ON FRIDAY, Silver Roque won a handicap chase at Newbury, to bring the yard’s wins to a total of 22 for the season. Paddy (Brennan) gave him another superb ride. He was always travelling well, crept into the race and won nicely. The Boss said he was even pricking his ears a bit!

Double Silver ran on to be fourth in the novices' chase after making some quite serious mistakes – there is definitely a lot of improvement in her. If she had jumped a bit better then she would easily have been third.

Looking ahead, the Boss has plenty of horses entered in races this week, with the yard’s Cheltenham Festival Foxhunter’s hopeful Creevytennant holding an entry in a hunter’s chase at Leicester on Friday, while the consistent Gemini Ahhs could also be heading to the Midlands track for a run in a handicap chase #CheltenhamFestivalCountdown.
