Two-goal Singh earns a point for Bibury

Cheltenham League Div 1.

Bibury 2 Falcons 2.

FALCONS gave league leaders Bibury a fright and as the game came to a close looked the more likely to take all three points.

Falcons carved out the first real chance of the game and it took a smart save from Steve Luce to prevent them from taking the lead.

Bibury then created two good chances of their own, but Matty Brunton fired wide and James Keylock had a shot saved.

Luce was called upon to make another save before, midway through the first half, Falcons took a deserved lead thanks to their lively number ten.

Bibury pushed for the equaliser and Josh Russell had a good chance only to fire over while, minutes later, Chris Singh burst into the penalty area but dragged his shot wide.

Bibury did level the match a minute before half-time when Singh got on the end of a pass from Garry Heaven to score.

Falcons made the running in the second half, too. Luce again saved Bibury with a fine stop but he could do nothing about the next Falcons attack as they retook the lead with a sharp finish.

Bibury created a couple of good chances without hitting the target before making a couple of substitutions. And it was sub Kanne Outram who set up Singh for his second goal of the game to level the scores with 15 minutes to go.

Falcons ended the game strongly but the score remained at 2-2 and the points were shared.
