Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard: Gud Day Gud Day

More Hammond Time.

SKY Sports News presenter Alex Hammond came to visit me again this week. We had so much fun but this time in beautiful weather. She is training hard for the Cheltenham Festival Charity Race in aid of Cancer Research UK. Don’t forget to sponsor Alex at www.justgiving.com/skysportsalexh.

Great news, I am entered at Uttoxeter on Saturday in the 3.25 race.

Enter the prize draw on my website www.thepeopleshorse.co.uk to be in with the chance of joining us @UttoxeterRaces.

Winners.

#TEAM FOB had a great weekend with Creevytennant winning by the huge distance of 22 lengths at Musselburgh.

His target will be the Cheltenham Foxhunter on the last day of the Festival in March – the amateurs’ Gold Cup!

This weekend we have a number of entries, including me, Farmer Matt, Doubletoilntrouble, Perfect Candidate and Mystifiable at Uttoxeter, Warwick and Exeter.

#CheltenhamFestivalCountdown.

ALL roads for jockeys, trainers, owners and racehorses are leading to Cheltenham from now until March. Everyone is starting to suffer with a little bit of #FestivalFever as there are only 35 days to go. Local trainers will be making the final preparations to their Festival hopefuls and still managing the day-to-day racing for the more average stablemates, like myself!

The Twiston-Davies camp had a good weekend at Ffos Las with Tour Des Champs storming home by 31 lengths (the width of a football pitch!) and Kaylif Aramis winning by a head! Both Nigel's sons, Sam and William, have been gracing the winners’ enclosures.

Ten to Follow Team.

MODULE won handsomely at Leicester last week by 12 lengths and currently holds entries in two chases at the Cheltenham Festival. Simonsig is due to finalise his Cheltenham preparation at Newbury this Saturday ahead of the Arkle Chase. Boston Bob warms up at Leopardstown this Saturday, with four possible targets at the Festival. Hunt Ball’s dream of winning the Gold Cup has been ended as his owner Anthony Knott has decided to run him in one of the handicaps, the Byrne Group Plate, instead.

Don’t forget to buy your tickets for the Cheltenham Festival and see all these champions in action from March 12-15. Tickets start from just £25 and can be bought online at www.
