TROY BATCHELOR, a member of the Swindon Robins’ Elite League title-winning team, has won his maiden Australian championship with victory in the final round at Kurri Kurri.
Victories in each of the first two meetings left Batchelor on the brink of the crown, and five wins out of six, including the A Final, ensured he took the trophy.
The event was missing two of its biggest draws as defending champion Chris Holder was unable to take part due to injury, while Darcy Ward was also absent from the series.
