Bibury come from behind to hit five past Star FC

Darren Parker of Bibury (red) tussles in the Star FC clash
Cheltenham League Div 1.
Bibury 5 Star FC 1.
ON A very wet but playable pitch, Bibury ran out comfortable winners to extend their lead at the top of the table to eight points.
Bibury started well creating plenty of chances – Dan Shannon headed over from a Russell corner and both Darren Parker and James Keylock had shots well saved by the visiting keeper.
Star then took the lead against the run of play but Bibury kept piling on the pressure and five minutes before the break they levelled the scores with a deflected shot from Matty Brunton.
The second period proved one-way traffic and, on the hour, Bibury took the lead through a driven free kick from Danny Brunton which was headed past his own keeper by a Star defender.
The Star keeper kept Bibury out with a string of fine saves but the home side got their third goal via Ashley Rockley, who skipped past a couple of tired defenders before finishing well.
Parker and Matty Brunton then both missed good chances but it was not long before the fourth goal came when sub Nick Peare powered a shot home.
Five minutes from the end, Kanne Outram completed the rout.
MoM: Matty Brunton.
