Dorset & Wilts Div 2 West.

Fairford 52 Bath Saracens 7.

FAIRFORD made it ten wins, and a maximum 50 points, from their last ten games with another comprehensive victory against Bath Saracens.

They go into the New Year six points clear at the top of the league.

Fairford started well and soon took the lead as Richie Lewis finished off a fine handling move to score under the posts.

Josh Lenthall, on a rare hot streak with the boot, added the first of his six conversions.

A second try soon followed with the front row of Jake Barstow, Luke Sawyer and Kenny Robbins combining strong running with offloading from the tackle to allow Ben Goodey to score.

Saracens continued to put pressure on the home side with some good handling but were unable to break down the solid defensive line and soon fell further behind. Good work from Lewis and Pat Dee fed the ball to 'Ants' Little ten yards out and he coasted in under the posts before adding a second soon after – to gain the bonus point.

The visitors did manage a consolation try late in the half as some poor tackling allowed them to score under the posts.

Fairford took the chance to make a number of changes at half-time but still continued to dominate and added a further four tries.

The first came from Goodey following good backs play, with Steve McCann making a strong run to cross the gain line and a fine break from MoM Will Olds.

Next to score was Neil Bee following another strong run and unselfish offload from Little; there followed another Lewis try from a typical Little break.

Fairford saved the best for last, though, as Andy Waite collected a kick in his own 22 and set off on a counter attack. After beating a number of defenders, he fed the ball to Goodey who made more ground before producing the pass which gave 'Beamer' Chambers the chance to cross in the corner.
