Senior Charity Cup.

Charlton Rovers 4 Bibury 1.

BIBURY crashed out of the Charity Cup on Saturday to a confident Charlton Rovers side, who are their top-of-the-table rivals in the league.

Bibury started brightly with Danny Brunton firing over and James Keylock going close; Chris Haynes also had a shot well saved.

Charlton started to create chances of their own and Bibury's stand-in keeper Garry Heaven made two great saves, but midway through the half Charlton took the lead when Bibury failed to clear the area.

Keylock and Darren Parker both went close to levelling the scores but, with a swift break, Rovers went further in front and five minutes before the interval they were 3-0 ahead.

Right on half-time, Bibury pulled a goal back when Haynes got on the end of a Dan Shannon free kick to score.

Bibury started the second period strongly and Ashley Rockley missed a great chance to reduce the deficit, while a long-range shot from Brunton went inches over and Haynes hit the side netting with a shot.

Bibury keeper Heaven then made a great save to push the ball on to the crossbar.

With ten minutes to go, Rovers finished the game off with a fourth goal.
