Lambourn Sports thrashed 7-2 by an in-form Fairford
FAIRFORD TOWN turned on the style to record an overwhelming 7-2 victory against Lambourn Sports on Saturday afternoon's league encounter at Cinder Lane.
It was an impressive display from Paul Braithwaite's side with Nathan Gambling and Dan Bailey both netting hat-tricks. Gambling scored his first of the game inside two minutes before following that up to make it 2-0 soon after.
The hosts got a goal back through Adam Mooney before Gambling completed his treble inside the half-hour mark. The visitors went down to ten men soon after with Sam Connors shown a straight red to leave his side with an uphill task. Shannon Pocock got in on the act to score Fairford's fourth as he converted a penalty before the break.
Dan Bailey scored his first of the afternoon just after half-time to make it 5-1, before his rasping low drive made it 6-1. The midfielder then netted his hat-trick to make it seven before Drake pulled a goal back for the visitors. It was an emphatic win for the Reds, who avenged their late defeat back in August with a win which takes them further up the Hellenic Division One West table.
