POOLE TOWN maintained their title push by taking all three points against Cirencester Town.

Poole, who have four games in hand of the leaders Hungerford, moved within five points of the top with their victory.

Cirencester were without injured captain Jamie Reid and full back Alex Allard but welcomed back both Chris Thompson and Jon Beeden.

They also introduced their new signing, the experienced defender Ricky Allaway, but despite a committed display they could do nothing to stop the high-flying Dolphins.

Forest Green loanee George Washbourne jinked his way into the box before firing a low shot towards the corner of the net which Nick Hutchings did well to turn around the post.

Scott Griffin and James Mortimer-Jones also went close with goal attempts.

The game was over as a contest early in the second half, however, when Cirencester conceded two goals in four minutes.

A high Steve Devlin cross in the 50th minute was nodded back into the six-yard box where Byerley was on hand to smash the ball home for his second Three minutes later, Poole captain Michael Walker made it 3-0, heading home a Devlin free kick.
