SWINDON TOWN will return to play Cirencester Town in a pre-season friendly after agreeing a deal to use the Gloucestershire club’s top quality indoor facility.

Cirencester have recently relaid their artificial surface to glowing reports. It is now the same surface as that used by Chelsea FC.

Swindon Town boss Paolo Di Canio brought his squad to train in Cirencester this week when the the wet weather played havoc with side’s Liddington training base. As part of the agreement, Swindon will play a warm-up match with Swindon next season. Manager Dave Hockaday has also brought his Forest Green Rovers squad to train at the Arena this week.

CIRENCESTER TOWN'S GFA Challenge Trophy tie against League Two Cheltenham Town at Whaddon Road on Tuesday was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch. No new date has yet been fixed.

Cirencester's next match is in the Evo-Stik Div 1 South & West when they entertain Paulton Rovers at the Corinium Stadium on Saturday.
