THE airwaves in Cirencester were buzzing at the weekend thanks to the hard work of volunteers at Corinium Radio.
This year the community radio station set up its studio in the newly-refurbished Bingham Library in Cirencester and drew in an extra 500 people than were expected over the weekend.
A team of volunteers create, present and work behind the scenes to make the three-day bi-annual broadcasts a success.
The independent station has been running since May 2006 and broadcasts to Cirencester and its immediate outskirts.
Organiser Geoff Carr said: "The entire broadcast was streamed on the web and on five occasions filled all the UK channels allocated by the licence authority."
He said feedback via email, text and phone indicated listening figures were up 50 percent on last year, when the broadcast in June attracted 5,000 people.
Anyone interested in future involvement in the station is invited to a public meeting at the library on December 1 from 7pm.
