CORINIUM Radio's fifth broadcast at the weekend was a hit with plenty of visitors flowing into the studio, including poet Pam Ayres.

Topics on the shows broadcast to Cirencester and the surrounding area ranged from pets to holidays in a Brixham Trawler and Standard reporters Emma Tilley and Andy Woolfoot even dropped in to read the news.

Famous poet Pam Ayres popped in on Saturday to read some poems about her pets.

Team member Jeanette Hughes said: "We would like to thank everyone involved with the broadcast, the team who work hard raising the much needed funds for the licences, the presenters, the wonderful guests who came in and took part.

"We would also like to thank Cotswold District Council for providing us with a venue to broadcast from, the sponsors and all those all supported us financially."

The station, which airs twice a year, attracted around 1,400 listeners last November.

The Corinium Radio Group will be holding an AGM on July 3 at Cotswold District Council's offices in Trinity Road at 7pm.

The meeting will be a chance for people to join the team, get involved with presenting a programme of share their views on the broadcast.

The next show will be in November but a date has yet to be set.
