The next head of Rendcomb College has been revealed.

Robert Jones, who is currently deputy head of Shiplake College, Henley-on Thames, is the replacement for Roland Martin and will start in the role in September.

Rob, who is married to Pippa and has two children, Max and Sienna, has previously taught at Canford School, Clifton College, The King’s School Worcester and Dauntsey’s School in Devizez.

Mr Martin said: “Rendcomb has undergone a good deal of change in the last four years and I am delighted that governors have appointed a head who will build on this. We are currently out for tender for a £3.3 million performing arts centre which will add huge benefit to the whole school when it is completed, God-willing, in September 2016. We have also recently finished work on a Sixth Form independent living house and will be giving students in the upper sixth two, one-week opportunities to live on their own, managing a budget and getting used to the challenges before moving on to University. Furthermore, work has started on four new tennis courts at the school and we are also investing in various refurbishment works. In short, an ambitious ten-year Development Plan is well underway and I am sure that the period ahead will be very exciting for Rendcomb. ”

Mr Martin has been at the college since 2011, and is leaving Rendcomb to work at The City of London Freeman’s School in Surrey, where he will work with the City of London Corporation.
