EVERY year Kingshill School pupils choose to fundraise for a charity of their choice and in 2012/13 they voted to raise funds for Cancer Research UK.
Tutor group pupils organised a range of fundraising events from film nights to cake sales to talent shows, culminating in the successful Kingshill Charity Fair in the summer.
Earlier this month pupils handed over a cheque for almost £2,800 to Rachel Brockie from Cancer Research UK.
Mr McCauley, head of RE and social studies, was the main organiser of the charity events. He said: "I am extremely proud of the hard work and effort put in by all the pupils. It's a pleasure to be able to hand over such a hard-earned amount to Cancer Research UK."
* Next year's charity, as chosen by the pupils, is the "Make a Wish Foundation".
