PUPILS and staff at North Cerney Primary school are celebrating after a recent Ofsted inspection judged the school to be ‘Good’, with ‘outstanding’ pupil behaviour and safety.
The report also commented on the strong partnerships with parents, carers and the local community that have been supportive of the school’s ambitious fundraising programme.
The inspector complimented the quality of teaching and learning and witnessed ‘examples of outstanding practice’.
Headteacher Jane Burr said: “ We are delighted with the result and believe it’s a reflection on the pupils and staff that have worked hard to progress the school. We’re also really pleased that the two areas that have been identified as needing to improve are areas we were already targeting and we are well on the way to addressing these.”
To improve further the school was asked to increase the proportion of teaching that is outstanding and accelerate pupils’ progress further by ensuring that their skills of rapid recall of addition and multiplication facts are developed more effectively.
