Stop growing calls menace

CAN nothing be done about the proliferation of unwanted telephone calls which occur mostly during the lunchtime period or in the early evening. These would appear to be directed at the elderly, the number presumably being obtained via the local telephone directory.

Today I received a call from someone representing a local will-writing firm, doubtless aiming to secure business by assuming I must be neither educated nor intelligent enough to have done something about it already. What a patronising assumption!

And what, I ask, is the Telephone Preference Service, with whom I am registered, doing to stop this increasing menace?
