Don't condemn Bromford homes and customer service quality

WE WERE very concerned to read two articles in the Wilts and Gloucestershire Standard condemning the quality of Bromford homes and customer service.

We invest millions of pounds into maintaining and improving the standards of our homes in and around the Cotswolds. We have customers who are vulnerable, with challenging issues, but we try to provide the services they need.

We think that where there are issues they should be reported both accurately and fairly and in this instance we feel these reports were unbalanced and misrepresentative.

The article on April 12 entitled ìMum-to-be ëat riskí from mouldy homeî carried an inaccurate and misleading photograph of a hole in the wall at a customerís property, stating that we had created it to resolve damp and mould issues. These issues were caused by a lack of heating in the home because the customer had been unable to pay her gas bill so the supply had been disconnected. We did not leave the house in this condition - at the time of our last inspection the internal vent was in place and not a ìgaping holeî as reported. To headline a quote comparing us to ìSoviet Russia in the 1950sî was utterly unfair.

We are working closely with this customer and she has confirmed that sheís now satisfied with our response.

We do appreciate that sometimes we may not get things right, but in this instance the issues were reported in a misleading way and thatís what has prompted us to write to you.

In response to the above statement. Don't be fooled by the lies that B/H/A come out with as in my opinion they are liars, full of broken promises with no interest in thier tennants living conditions, Everything you read in the "tennants handbook" is Bull s**t As they completely destroyed my life, A bunch of absolute amatuers, Thumbs down, Public vote the rubbish out, Enough said!

"What is Cotswold District Council doing to keep tabs on these situations?" Cllr Joe Harris question to Cllr Carole Topple Tuesday 1st May. "I've had several residents contact me with similar problems," he says.
Sounds like there might be more mileage in this story....

We was a family of four (with two children) living in a very small house where our bed was in the living room leaving the kids a room each as the bedrooms were too small to contain more than one bed, We had a hazard aware grade one warning issued by Environmental health, We were also being harassed by another B/H/A tennant, This carried on for over two years but B/H/A did nothing about it, Their only advice to us at the time was to mutual exchange out as they found our situation amusing, Or to stop complaining as there was other family's on the waiting list that would want our home! We was forced to move away from our home town, even had to remove our child out of school twice because they would not help us, Absolute rubbish, Only interested in the rent and nothing else. B/H/A destroyed our life, Vote the B**stards OUT.

How can that person defend Bromford like that.We moved to current home 2yrs ago,we had 1yr of bliss.Quiet neighbours, nice communial space and just a great place. Then someone moved out and a complete shower of s#*t was moved in.Loud music til 3/4 in the morning, fights, polic
e and ambulances at all hours. If we say anything we get threats from other members of their family that don't even live here.Recyling bins over flowing with booze bottles, cigarette ends just throw to the floor and trying to get in or out past 7 or 8 teenagers that wont move even when you say excuse me.We go to our Housing Officer "I'm sorry he's not available at the moment.I'll get him to call you back" 4 days later we get a call, then some diaries through the post.We fill them in week after week after week.We challenge him over it"Go to enviromental health" he tells us. Hang on aren't they your tenants.A couple of weeks ago we get a call saying he's closing the case down. Needless to say just yesterday we had boom boom music so loud we had to go out just for some peace. And there's 2 floors between us and them.

What a joke, The ONLY offer of help from B/H/A is for them to send you a diary (probably several badly copied bits of A4 paper) for you to write down what you have to put up with, Then when you have wasted your life writing your heart out, B/H/A simply ignore your hard work and come up with "theres nothing we can do", What about the lost sleep, depression, feeling low, harrasment, feeling scared, Unable to leave your home, Not eating properly?, Yet the evidence is there right in front of their eyes, but only the resident can see or hear it, Is one of the requirements of working at B/H/A the ability to not see or hear what we the residents are having to put up with? I put up with their rubbish for years and i feel for all those still living in the damp misserable derelict badly repaired sh*tholes that they manage! Ohh and has anyone noticed that the number you ring them on appears on your bill as a mobile? - If you still have your "tennants handbook" read through it again and ask yourself if the contents are accurate, I bet you will get more angry the more you read it, As it's all false!

This comment is directed to B/H/A - The customer is ALWAY'S right! Remember without the tennants There wouldn't be an association.

FACT, The only good thing about Cirencester now since B/H/A took over is the A419 road that takes you straight past it!!!
