IN RECENT weeks there have been reports of pedestrians falling in Cirencester and I regret to tell you that my husband is another victim of the shallow kerb in the Market Place.

On Friday July 14, he stepped aside to avoid other pedestrians on the footpath outside The King’s Head and fell.

As a result, he has broken his hip and needed an operation to pin it. He was in hospital for six days, missed his brother’s funeral and is now in quite a lot of pain as he struggles to get mobile again.

We are convinced that this would not have happened if the distinction between pavement and road had been more clearly defined.

We would like to thank the passer-by who stayed with him while they waited for the ambulance and a lady from The King’s Head Hotel who came to find me while I waited for him in the car.

How many more accidents will there be before the council does something to improve the visibility?
