I REFER to the article/obituary concerning the death of Diana Holmes, (print issue dated June 8) and would like to add a few words.
I knew Diana and her husband Francis very well. They both had a love of classical music and were wonderful supporters – attending concerts organized by the Cricklade Music Festival, in the 70s, 80s and 90s.
Small groups of us were invited to their charming farmhouse home to be entertained by musical players, followed by supper.
Both were very keen cyclists. Francis instigated the Wilts Historic Churches Trust Bike Ride, cycling from church to church raising funds for the restoration of Wiltshire churches, every year in September. Other counties followed later.
