I HAVE found out that the ‘Nutrition Centre’ health shop in Castle Street is closing in a couple of months.
It has been hit by the lack of parking in the town, the continuous road works that took more than a year to complete, and changes to the one way systems.
The new market square may look nice, but was it necessary to choose a design that took over a year to carry out? The chronic parking shortage is of course a long standing issue over many years.
I fear that Cirencester is on course to become only a tourist destination, served by coach tours, and full of cafes and restaurants, but hardly any independent shops and small chains serving residents who live in the area.
