Regarding last week’s topic on food banks.
I’m puzzled, is there really a need?
I can remember the latter half of World War II and the following years.
Shortage and rationing of food, public advised to grow their own food, walk to school.
No TV, make our own toys out of match boxes and balsa wood.
No electric lights in some homes.
I did have the odd treat, a three penny bag of chips (240p to £1).
Can not recall seeing anyone overweight nor starving.
Food banks??
