I AM writing in connection with your article (Standard, March 2) about disabled people and the Market Place development.

I am a 73 year old with mobility problems and I wrote to you before the work started fearing what has happened.

I also have a letter from Andrew Tubb which made various promises about being able to continue using a blue badge there.

I can no longer access the Market Place.

On the occasion in January when I did use the badge I was told I would get a parking ticket.

I have several questions to ask Mr Tubb.

Firstly, where can you use a blue badge now?

Secondly, what has happened to the disabled spaces which were in the Market Place before and are they to be re-instated?

Gloucestershire County Council tell me it is not their responsibility but that of the Town Council.

Finally, where are the dropped kerbs?

I tried to use a disability scooter at Christmas and found circumnavigation of the Market Place difficult because of the lack of them.

What has been done is discriminatory, it denies disabled people access to the Market Place.
