IT WAS with great interest to read the letter from the Peacock family regarding their attitude towards the chairperson and committee of the Dolphins Hall.

I have no knowledge of how long they, the Peacocks, have lived in Tetbury, I have been here nearly 72 years and those serving the Hall now have had a very recent difficult period to overcome and, to me, they have succeeded to re-install trust back to themselves.

How can they, the Peacocks, can say the view of St Saviours will be spoilt?

And as for their footpath, come on just look around the town and the countryside surrounding us, nearly every landowner has a footpath on their land.

Just look in the February issue of the Tetbury Advertiser and you will read the extent Mr M Tucker of Long Newnton has gone to too make the cycle path and bridle way easier for those who use it.

HRH has also moved footpaths to suit the public, all they need to do to their pathway is follow the wall around and all will be fine.

Just talk to people, treat people like you like to be treated yourselves and I am sure all will be resolved to suit both parties and there will be a wonderful new hall to suit all the needs of the people of Tetbury and the surrounding villages and hamlets for many years to come.

What we all should also remember is that the Recreation Ground should always be known as the Memorial Recreation Ground in the memory of those 67 people who lost their lives in WWI and all those who have followed since in countless hideous battles in our most wonderful world.
