MR Irving in his response in your columns to my letter on wind turbines seems to be a little confused.

He quotes me as being against the development of zero carbon energy.

Nowhere in my letter was this evident.

I am totally in favour of using tidal power and solar power in the right environment.

What I am against is the reliance on wind power.

During the cold spell in January, some days wind power contributed approximately one per cent of the power required for the National Grid, hardly enough for us all to have a cup of tea.

Mr Irving says that there is no disagreement among scientists regarding the effect of greenhouse gas on the climate, he is very mistaken.

The president of the Space and Scientific Research Corporation (SSRC), John Casey, is on record as saying global warming caused by greenhouse gas emissions “is the greatest scientific fraud in history”.

The SSRC has accused the US government, NOAA and NASA of deceiving the public and will not rely on its data.

Coincidentally, in today’s national press, a high level whistleblowing NOAA scientist Dr John Bates, has revealed how figures were manipulated prior to the Paris conference in order to exaggerate the level of global warming.

These are just two of the many independent voices who are sceptical, a host of them can be found on the internet.

There is no way I can list them here but there is ample evidence for anyone with an open mind to see.

Just enter “man-made global warming sceptics”, the list of scientists in a variety of disciplines is as long as my arm.

So Mr Irving, until we have harnessed the tides, which you can rely on at all times, unlike your part-time, costly, unreliable wind turbines, my message is: Get Fracking.
