THERE is a vacuum in Fairford town square.
An empty space, a vacant building of some majesty that seems to have been vacated for a quarter of a year with no explicit explanation as to why.
Well I know it was closed last year for a complete refurbishment and have been told of various dates for it’s reopening.
It shows a certain conceit on the part of the business and the new owners not to tell potential customers what is going on.
Informing is good PR and a way of heading off rather needless speculation and rumour.
I can recall the day when new businesses put up signs to say ‘opening soon’ to ignite public interest.
Perhaps the building should have a sign outside saying “opening sooner or later”.
