THE allegations made about alleged bullying at Romney House surgery have shocked many.

A staggering number of people signed a petition to air their concerns as the petition also asks that efforts are made to resolve difficulties within the practice.

There have been questions about the volume of staff and GPs who have the left this practice and whether they wanted to go or not.

There have been concerns raised about the level of care and treatment from certain doctors.

I think the surgery is going to have to work hard to restore faith and confidence and if they wish to recruit new doctors then surely having senior partners leave without a logical explanation must raise questions and concerns to any potential new doctors.

I have asked a senior NHS director who has agreed to come to our town and listen to concerns not only about this but any complaints about the level of care.

This, I think, is a responsible thing to do.

Again this has highlighted why our town should have a second surgery, so if someone feels unhappy they have a choice; we had two when we had a smaller population.

One suggestion is, can we have a second independent GP located at our own hospital?

It is also interesting there has been no official denial of any of these allegations yet, hopefully soon.

It would also be good to hear from previous GPs and members of staff.
With the extra numbers of people coming into our town, we need a second surgery, as many Tetbury residents currently use Sherston, which is in a different county.

This worry and concern is not going away until a satisfactory response and investigation has been completed.

It’s always advisable to get a second opinion from a doctor but when they run a monopoly who would you get it from?
