Carved on the WWI roll of honour wall outside the parish church is the name John Talbot Rice M.C.,C de G. The Military Cross and similarly the French Croix de Guerre were awarded in recognition of “an act of exemplary gallantry during active operations against the enemy”.
Does anybody know his story and why he was awarded his medals?
