THE Cirencester Corps of The Salvation Army would like to thank all those who supported the Army’s Annual National Appeal street collections in Cirencester on June 4, which raised £591.32p.

This was an increase on last year’s total for which we are very grateful, particularly considering the present economic situation and the ever-increasing call on the generosity of the public in the support of so many good causes.

Could I also point out that the former commanding officers, captains Bryan and Barbara Lang have taken up a new appointment at Chesterton Corps in Staffordshire which means that for the foreseeable future Cirencester Corps will be run locally.

Those wishing to contact the Corps can do so via phone on 01285 643596, the S.A. charity shop in Dyer Street or the Corps website cirensalvationarmy@btik.co.uk.

The Corps programme at the Hall in Thomas Street will continue as normal with an open invitation to join us for worship at 10am and 6pm on Sundays.

Particularly in these days when many churches have ceased having evening worship, anyone is welcome to join us for worship of an informal nature followed by the ubiquitous cup of tea or coffee.

Cirencester Corps Secretary
