TO anyone who cares about their life in the beautiful Cotswolds, the announcement on May 23 of fracking approval in North Yorkshire probably seems an insignificant distant event.
Nothing could be further from the truth.
If you care about life here, danger begins in North Yorkshire.
Once this Government and its fossil fuel allies unleash fracking, there will be no stopping this juggernaut.
A couple of years ago, I was on local radio bringing to light that we in the Cotswolds were probably in the fourth best region to frack. An oil/gas industry expert said that we were third in line.
We at Frack Free Cotswolds have provided talks thus far, mainly in the Cirencester area where we are based. We are now expanding and branching out.
If you want to learn about fracking and how it could affect us all, We are holding a public discussion in Moreton-in-the-Marsh on July 6. Visit frackfreecotswolds.co.uk.
There is much more free energy available in this world than we will ever require.
We just need to concentrate our attention on harnessing it.
History shows that we increase efficiency and reduce costs as we become more expert and experienced.
A better world is possible.
